Chair of century-old law firm appointed to county board of directors
Jones Foster, a 100-year-old commercial and private client law firm with offices in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, and Jupiter, has announced that chairman Scott G. Hawkins has been appointed to the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County’s board of directors for the 2024-2025 term. In this role, Hawkins will work with board members to guide the development board’s economic development efforts through corporate relocation, expansion, and retention programs for Palm Beach County.
Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches selects board chair, CEO
The Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches recently announced changes in key leadership positions. The changes are part of an overall plan to elevate the chamber through a focus on its vision, core values, and strategic plan. On Nov. 2, Michael Davis assumed the role of chairman of the board. Davis served on the chamber’s executive board for two years, leading its recent strategic planning efforts and the selection of the new CEO. Davis brings with him three decades of executive leadership experience, including several senior roles for the federal government. On Nov. 4, the chamber welcomed Michael Zeff as president and chief executive officer. Zeff has over two decades of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, and community engagement, aimed at advancing Palm Beach County’s economic future.
Lewis, Longman & Walker adds seasoned attorney to ranks
Lewis, Longman & Walker, P.A., in West Palm Beach has announced that Jason D. Winn has joined the firm as a senior attorney. Winn has dedicated his career to representing local governments and health care professionals in matters related to licensure defense, employment, compliance with executive orders and newly enacted Florida legislation. Before joining the firm, Winn was the managing partner of his own practice for nearly 20 years.
Mounts Botanical Garden group names executive director
The Friends of the Mounts Botanical Garden recently announced the appointment of James E. May as its new executive director. He officially began his role on Nov. 18. May brings decades of non-profit leadership, strategic expertise, and a solid dedication to education, positioning him to lead Mounts into an exciting phase of growth and progress. Mounts Botanical Garden is Palm Beach County’s oldest and largest botanical garden featuring 25 unique garden areas containing more than 7,000 species of tropical and sub-tropical plants.
Delray hospital names Chief Operating Officer
Delray Medical Center has promoted Aganette Parks, MHA, PMP, to the position of chief operating officer. Parks has been serving as the interim COO since July. Parks was named the associate administrator in 2021. Delray Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 536-bed acute care hospital, spanning 30 acres, employing over 1,700 employees, 700 physicians, serving southern Palm Beach County for over 40 years.
Boca Raton luxury development adds project leader
Glass House Boca Raton has welcomed longtime luxury real estate development leader Noam Ziv, principal of The Red-C Group, as a partner and CEO of 280 E Palmetto Park Road, LLC, the developer of the luxury residential project. The Red-C Group offers development support and services to developers for the entire life cycle of a project or for specific phases based on the developer’s needs. Glass House Boca Raton is the first modern glass building in the heart of downtown Boca Raton.
